Meringue

From Grandma G.
She can make some very pretty pies. This recipe is why.

1 T. cornstarch
6 T. sugar
1/2 C. cold water
Dash salt
3 egg whites

Mix cornstarch, sugar, water, and salt.
Cook until thick and clear.

Cool slightly, beat whites until frothy. Continue beating while slowly pouring cooked mixture over egg whites and continue beating for 5 minutes.
