Broccoli Soup

From your great-auntie A.

1/4 C. chopped onion
6 T. butter
1/4 C. flour
2 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 C. water
2 C. milk
2 C. steamed broccoli, coarsely chopped.

Saute onion in butter until translucent in large saucepan.
Add remaining ingredients and cook through.

Add 2 C. shredded American cheese prior to serving.
